Asahiflex Shutters

Does anyone know the history of the two shutters used on early Asahiflexs? My Asahiflex 1 has the 5 speed +B shutter ;-1/25, 1/50, 1/100, 1/200, 1/500th as does my IIA & IIB. My Asahiflex 1A however has 1/20, 1/30,1/40, 1/60, 1/100, 1/200 & 1/500. (7 speed +B).Reading the little litterature I can find, the shutter on my Asahiflex1A preceded that which is on my older Asahiflex 1.

I'll check my copy of Frederick C. Sherfy's book when I'm back home tonight.

As promised. Hope this helps! And of course, all kudos should go to Mr. Frederick C. Sherfy for writing his excellent book about Asahiflexes and the early Asahi Pentax cameras.

Many thanks for the information. You have opened my eyes to the fact that my 4 cameras have four different shutters not two.

No thanks; it's great that Asahiflexes are still loved and cared for...
