New lenses on old LX?

I have a Pentax LX. Great camera. Do the newer lenses work on it?

They support all functions if they have an aperture ring. If there is no aperture ring, the aperture will not change from minimum aperture, and you will be shooting everything at f/22 or whatever the minimum is.

Thanks for reply. Question: Some new lenses don't have an aperture ring? What kind?

Pentax FAJ, DA, DA*, and DAL lenses don't have aperture rings.

And the D FA 100mm f/2.8 Macro WR. The 2 non-WR D FAs have an aperture ring.

And some, but not all, of the modern aftermarket lenses from Sigma, Tamron, and Tokina.

I have forsworn buying non-aperture ring pentax lenses because of my LX.

Any Pentax lens with an aperture ring will work on the LX. That includes M42, K, 645, and 67 lenses. And of course, third party lenses.

There is no electronic communication between the LX and the lens, only the stop-down coupler.
