Pentax MX problem

The negatives from the last couple of rolls taken using my beloved MX have a black line down one side (see below). Any idea as to the cause of this, and any suggestions as to a cure?

That doesn't look good. The MX has a horizontal silk shutter and yours is probably in read of a CLA if not a repair.

Can you check and see if the curtains travel all the way across the opening. It looks like they don't quite clear. I don't think it is a slow trailing curtain because the exposure seems even.

Agreed - probably a shutter brake issue. A standard CLA would cure it all.
