My first roll with my MZ-S I didn't know about what the data back was/how it worked. All those lovely shots partially ruined. It has been turned off since. The EXIF data on the film is a neat idea, but it is pretty hard to see. And much less info than digital EXIF, of course.

yes, but it also records shutter speed, f stop and film advance number. all good for negative archival.

645N also prints exposure information on the out-of-image-area film borders...but I don't think that kind of thing is what the original poster was asking about. I believe the batteries on all of my AF SLR databacks are dead and I have no interest in reviving them.
