I am having issues loading the film into my Pentax Spotmatic, the lever to wind the film in won't cock back at all when I try winding the film in the camera. Also the release button at the bottom of the body won't unpress. This is my first time actually having the camera and I did the normal thing of messing with buttons and such and am hoping I didn't mess anything up.

Is the shutter cocked? Can you see through the viewfinder?

The button on the bottom should pop back out when you cock the shutter. If it doesn't then that's probably the source of the problem.
