Check out the last part of the page. The Seagull S-207 looks exactly like your camera.

The description regarding the LED meter read-out fits as well. Mystery solved! Pearl River S-207 it is! I did some Google work and apparently there was an export version too with English script. The lack of embossed lettering is a bit of a puzzle. Perhaps this one was a prototype or left the factory in somebody's lunch pail?

Yes, I agree, it's an S-207. Thanks for everyone's replies. I glad I added this one to my collection.

What's kind of amusing to me is this part:

The brand name was changed to Mingca MCK-1000 due to a trade mark dispute with Guangzhou Camera factory that made Pearl River brand cameras back in 1950's.
The "Pearl River S-207" (why 207? I have no idea), is clearly a reference to the Pearl River S-201, a Nikon F2 copy* that was produced in the late-'70s, and which the Ming Camera Factory helped produced back when it was still based in Mingguang.

(The S-201's on my list of cameras I'd like to own, but the price tends to be more than I'd like to pay when I do spot one.)

* But with a Minolta mount!

That's nice to know. Those stickers look like they come out of someone's label maker.

The camera in question is a Penflex K-2000 which has had its identifying stickers removed. It was sold in the US by Kiev.

Now it all comes together. FWIW, Kiev USA and Kiev (Arsenal) in the Ukraine are not directly related.

This gives me an idea to make a quick buck on some one-of-a-kind models.
Now where's my P-Touch?...

It would be a little difficult to do a replica of one as todays label makers would do too good a job. They were produced as a cheap alternative to the originals and quality is nowhere near that of Pentax. Looking at the corner of the prism next to the K2000 sticker you can see another good indication of their quality where the internal corner of the prism housing has not been cleaned up properly prior to chrome plating.
I suspect the stickers and probably the Helios 4K-4 lens were added by Kiev USA to body stock from China. Kiev USA was best known for totally remanufactured Kiev cameras for sale to U.S. buyers. Sadly, they recently quit business.

Wow. This looks like a K1000 with what looks a lot like a Ricoh KR-5 circuit board.

Here are a couple of pictures of a Kiev USA K2000 with the stickers still intact.

I picked this camera up recently, the piks are from the sales ad:
