[Help] Cameras with similar light meter as K1000

Hey guys!

I just checked out the Pentax K1000 and I fell in love with the light meter. I have a Canon AE-1 Program and not being able to live preview the aperture change makes me miss a good moment at times.

The specific light meter I'm looking for is the one that has the needle which has to meet in the middle for the ideal aperture.

I know this is a Pentax forum but other camera brands that have the same meter would be awesome too!

The Pentax spotmatic II has the same thing, my grandad also owns an old fujifilm camera that has the same kind of light meter...

M42 Practica has it

I can recommend the MTL3

It has stop down metering/dof preview

The Pentax K Series "KM" also has the same light meter as the K1000.

As does the KX, and 6x7 (with metered prism) if you're looking for something truly special....

I really love the black Spotmatic II - but I can't find a good conditioned one anywhere!

I didn't even know there was a AT-1 haha! I saw the AV-1 while looking at the AT. Do you know the difference between the two? Also if they have the same light meter?

You can also try olympus OM1/OM1n and OM2/2n. (OM1/OM1n are fully mechanical)

The Spotmatic F will operate the same way as the K1000 (open aperture metering) with Super-Multi-Coated or SMC lenses. The Spotmatic II (and the original Spotmatic as well) have to be stopped down to meter.

The ES & ES II are also open aperture, but they also have a semi-auto Aperture Priority mode.

Almost all the cameras from that era had the match needle meter, Nikon F2, Spotmatic, Fujicas, Minolta SRTs, Canon F-1 and FTb (plus a circle to represent the aperture)...
