I recently sent off a batch of E6 to DataChrome, an E6-only lab in southern California. They have a strong reputation and I was very pleased with the service and quality of work. Checking their website today, I discovered this:

DataChrome has closed its doors.

Thank you for your years of business.

A pity. There are still other quality E6 labs in the US, but ever fewer. But at least I still have options. Not everyone does, as I reminded myself by rewatching this:

Did you get your films back?

Yes, no problems and quick service. I expect mine was one of the last runs. Presumably they have notified their regular customers as otherwise they would still be receiving mail-in orders from people who haven't checked the website recently.
