Welcome to the Film Forum!
It's nice to see a new face around here!
The K1000 is a very simple camera, but its simplicity is its strength. It's only got what you really need, and this helps to make you focus on your composition and subject instead of the camera, though a depth-of-field preview would be nice (and that's why I'm gonna get myself a KX when I can afford one.)
I learned photography on the K1000, and I've been impressed by the quality of the images I've made with it--even while I was still a complete novice (though this may be more a testament to the film and excellent Pentax glass
). In any event, the K1000 won't disappoint. You've made an excellent choice with the K1000!
