Glue for leatherette

Can anyone advise what sort of glue is best to use to stick the leatherette to the camera bodies such as on the MX, Me Super etc?

I guess it needs to be one that sticjks reasonably well but which is not impossible to remove again later if needed without destroying the leatherette.

Pliobond is the traditional adhesive for that purpose.

Most contact cements/adhesives will do. As Steve has mentioned a specific brand that is traditional/recommended is PlioBond which remains flexible throughout most of its life.

Pliobond works best on the various materials cameras are usually made of.
It has a longer working time than contact cement, allowing adjustments.
It holds tight but allows removal if necessary later on without destruction.

Years ago I took a camera repair class that was offered at a local community college. It was taught by an irascible old fellow who was rather set in his ways. He claimed that Pliobond was the only glue worth talking about because all othe products were inferior. Even then, however, he mentioned that it was getting hard to find. I have found, though, that it doesn't have to be. An Ace Hardware that was just a few blocks from my house carried it. I have also used contact cement. Some contact cement isn't even worth bothering with -- it is too thick right out of the bottle. The contact cement made by the same makers of Pliobond works well, I've found, and I've used it on occasion when I didn't have any Pliobond handy. It looks and smells just like Pliobond to me, which makes me wonder how big of a difference there is between the two products.

Thanks all, it looks like barge cement and Pliobond are USA terminologies, I am in the UK so will have to see if there is an equivalent here !

As it happens I had to take the leatherettes off the SP today to fix some problems, the old adhesive was quite rubbers so much of it pulled off easily, that which was left on the body and leatherette came off well using acetone. So everything is in good condition, I just need something to stick it back with after the repairs.

Fargo/Micro-Tools has a location in Germany. Here is Pliobond.
I recommend the glass bottle rather than the metal tube.

BTW Pliobond is a good general purpose adhesive, suitable for many household uses.
