Spotmatic SP mystery part !

Whilst I had the top plate off of the Spotmatic SP this little piece popped out (potentially it could have come from the front section where the meter switch or timer parts are but this seems unlikely as the front cover had already been off extensively so if it were from there I'd have expected it to have come out before tat). It has no slots either end or anything, does anyone have any idea what it is ???

LOL well so far I'm still here ! I guess if I can't find out it will have to wait until it all goes back together and see what doesn't work ! Still trying to get the meter working so it won't be going back together
just yet.

I believe it is the plunger that slides into the bottom side of shutter release button. If you reinstall the top without it, you won't be able to fire the camera
You are correct !!!

I didn't think of looking at the cover itself ! But it fits in the shutter release button perfectly and I can see evidence if it's wear on the actuation plate on the body itself. Thankyou !
