Wonderful...A film is resurrected, and just my luck it's one I never had a use for.

Bring back BW400CN in 35mm and 120 and i'll be impressed. The contrast of Ilford XP2 is flatter than graphene.
I still have some left but I'll be sad when it's gone. It was a great film.

Tried some awhile back. Seems reasonable for 3200 ISO film. Used TMAX developer then but maybe try XTOL this time around for finer grain?

Would be interested in trying it again but looking forward to Ektachrome more but wonder which one E100G or E100VS? Maybe both?

I really doubt that Ektachrome would have enough demand to justify production outside of cine purposes. E100G and E100GX were fantastic films especially for cross processing*. What I hope is to see unique films like HIE, TP-2415, BW400CN and the Ultra colour 400** film to make a comeback in 120 format.

* Fuji films have this green cast when cross processed that doesn't gel with my aesthetic sensibilities.
** the 100UC film often has a reddish cast that is difficult to correct for, the 400UC film possessed greater neutrality when printed/scanned.

I was speculating about which version Ektachrome was being re-released - E100G or E100VS or other? Kodak previously announced it and I believe they are supposed to re-release it this year. I haven't heard about any other formulation being released.

E100VS seems like the most likely candidate. It will be in direct competition to Fuji Velvia.

And at this rate with Fujifilm's trends, it'll outlive it.

From the press release:

I never tried P3200, but it will be nice to have an option other than Delta to choose from when shooting low light. Now if only they'd finally get Ektachrome out to the shops as announced last year.
I just heard about this. Super happy to hear it. I shot it a few times long ago. I'm much more excited about TMax100 returning. It's arguably my all-time favorite b&w. i've got a roll frozen in the bottom of the box.

Also... hey y'all. Seems everyone still is around - I haven't been. Happy new year.

Heh? Where did Tmax100 go? Hasn't it been around the whole time?

(and welcome back!)

Has it??? Maybe I just misread in another group. I tried to buy some a couple of times and it was always backordred and I read some rumors (year or two ago?). Honestly I didn't question the fact since so many of my favorite films have disappeared in recent years, and I've a huge stock of HP5plus and some Delta which I started shooting around the same time so I never followed up. I dunno - maybe it has been around just slow in production?? Beats me. Either is better ("back" or "never left") than the world I *was* living in.

I vaguely remember reading something about that a year or two ago, but I've been fairly consistently buying TMax100 from B&H since I got into film and it's definitely still around! Currently available to ship from BH in 135, 120, 4x5 sheets and 135 bulk rolls...

I'd be shattered if they discontinued it, my favourite film by a decent margin

I'm not sure they ever exist in the singular. When there's more than one, its a southern cornmeal porridge sort of thing. It's tasty. Not far off from polenta.

Question Vinny Gambini asked in the movie My Cousin Vinnie. I was in the south for a few years and I know better then to use instant grits . . .

A third of the worlds supply of T-Max 100 is packed in dry ice in the depths of my freezer.

T-Max 100 & 400 are exceptional. I have used TMAX and XTOL developers with good success. Do you have a preferred developer?
