Safe to use 3.6V CR2 Batteries for MZ-M?

Hello,

This just come to me, but can I use the 3.6V rechargable CR2 batteries in a MZ-M? I know that at least in Minoltas, this will kill the camera, but I am not sure about the MZ-M.

Sincerely

The batteries are loaded in parallel series, so the difference is 6.0V vs. 7.2V. I wouldn't do it.

FWIW, CR2 batteries (even rechargeable) are 3V on this side of the Pacific.

My MZ-7 battery grip takes 4 AA batteries which is also 6V. The CR2 batteries I have are 3V each. I would say if you went up to 7.2 V you’ll likely kill the camera.

I think you mean in series? Parallel batteries do not combine voltage they simply increase current capacity.
