Pentax KX - question for beginner

Hello, I have a question about my first analog camera.
I already took some photographys with my first roll, but I notice that the button under the camera for rewinding is pressed (number 37 on the picture). Is it a problem?
Thanks!

Brice

Hello Brice
In my Pentax ME the button comes out as soon as i wind the film to shoot a new picture.
If the cylinder on the left is rotating when winding the film with the cylinder on the right, this means that the film is pulled from left to right.

No, it's not a problem. As soon as you put your next roll of film in and cock the shutter (or cock the shutter with out film), the button will come out. If the button doesn't pop back out, then you have a problem.

And remember to push the button before you rewind the film.

I 'had a friend who' forgot many years ago and ripped the sprockets off his film...

Surely the resistance was a clue something was wrong?

I understood the premise of your question was that you are still in the process of shooting your first roll of film. The rewind button, #37 should have popped down when the film sprockets engage the teeth on #38. Are you sure the film leader was secured in #39? If not you might not be advancing the film. Do you see the rewind knob/lever turning the counterclockwise when you advance the film?
