Great news. I reluctantly gave up shooting slides in 2016 because there wasn't a film that I really liked anymore, so I'm overjoyed at the thought of giving this new Ektachrome a try.

argh..one of the worst optimized websites I have ever seen. Oh yes, no film sizes bigger than 35mm - that really bumz me out. i'm done here.

Good luck finding a lab that can competently develop it.

What's that supposed to mean? Isn't E-6 a standard chemistry and process?

There are a lot less places developing E-6, but they are out there. "Competently"--I leave to personal preference. I don't know about AU, but I've gotten good slides from thedarkroom.com. I'll probably buy an E-6 kit to do my own in October since we're going to be shooting a lot of it.

Oh come on, it's a start (or in this case a restart). In this day and age, I suspect 35mm is far and away the volume leader for anything other than B&W negatives. For all the dozens of people who will shoot 120-format slides, there have got to be hundreds with old 35mm slide projectors of various capacities in their attics or basements and 35mm cameras ready to accept New Ektachrome and relive the good old days.

It's business sense... for now. If the uptake is everything they expect and more, they might consider larger formats. At least the processing capability is still alive out there, and isn't dependent on an expensive centralised processing system that is already dismantled and probably beyond economic restart.

Oh, poop. Film like this is the one reason I continue to hold on to my Bronica and Moskva-5 cameras. 120 format - pleeeaaasseee!

120 isn't available yet because as I understand it, it has to be coated separately since it is on a thinner base. I expect it will be available, but not immediately. I prefer 120 as well, but I do imagine that there are a lot more 35mm shooters, so that is almost certainly step one.

Happy it's here - I've been checking almost daily for some time now

Too bad there is no 120 format, but at least I'll have an excuse to dust off my LX

Of course, LX does not need an excuse to be dusted off, but if there had to be one, return of Ektachrome is a great example.

Commenting on Digitalis' comment, my recollection is that temperature should be within 1/4 degree F and many labs were sloppy. I developed most of the E-6 myself or sent it to Kodak (when the Kodak labs were directly owned by Kodak- a US issue) or a place called A&I in the LA area. There aren't many choices right now.
