That's a good point, although I find that seeing a yellow monochromatic world helps me to visualize the black & white image and I'm less distracted by color.

A yellow filter is a piece of cake to focus through. And colors that would ordinarily reproduce to a very similar shade of grey are suddenly separated with a filter. And then there are rangefinder cameras where even a R72 filter is not a problem focusing through.

I've shot all three, but settled on HP5. I like the greater subtlety on the midtones and the sharpness is great along with enough grain to make things interesting.

Since I use a Rodinal clone 1+100 for 60 minutes for any film the real difference is the fix time of the Kodak modern films is longer and the fixer life shorter.
If you fix by inspection you can see the difference in a mixed multi reel tank!
