I posted on here somewhere about this very thing. The Black Diamond grip is what throws everyone off. This was the camera that I bought in high school about 1981 IIRC. Mine was purchased directly through the photography class and all the regular K1000's were gone....This little ugly thing was all that was left and I ended up with it...….lol I have a very fond Soft Spot in my heart for it.
I ran into one years later and Sold it on Ebay for $200 !
The Black diamond SE version was actually the First SE models made before the standard Leatherette ones came out in Appx 1978......I got one of the 2500 New ones that probably was a leftover item about 1981 from some dealer my HS dealt with out of New York.
Serial # were pre 780xxx or so.
