Are those scratches I'm seeing all over those oddly colored slides?

A novel idea that illustrates Polaroids ingenuity, but alas, a solution to a problem <del>no one</del> few had.

Would probably do well as a crowd funded 'Polaroid' product.

It was a very expensive way to produce 35mm slides aimed at those who wanted presentations with 35mm slides in a hurry. There was a 'white & blue' monochrome version too.

The Lab Box uses a similar daylight processor for normal film:

I tried several rolls of this back when it was first released because it was such a cool idea. However the results were very disappointing and I considered it an interesting experiment and never shot it again. Very contrasty and grainy, even when shooting in low contrast lighting. I'd call it Grungychrome.

I shot a few rolls back in the 90s. It was great if you needed images <right now>, didn’t need high resolution or color fidelity, and weren’t able to process your own traditional film.

But I would never choose to use it if I had alternatives... it was almost a special effects film.

The commercial need for this is long gone, but it would be a pretty neat Lomography experiment...

Yeah. The Lomography crowd would find a use for it. My recollection, however, is that it was quite expensive. If you could get it going, who would pay $60 a roll?

IIRC, it was $24.99/roll in the mid-1990s.

That probably puts it at $50-60/ roll, based on what the impossible folks have done with the other Polaroid products, so yeah... no...

How much does a home E6 kit cost?

The results of this Polaroid film I've seen online, remind me of the expired (early 1990's) AgfaChrome 1000RS that I finished shooting earlier this year. I ended up shooting it at 50-100ISO, as it had deteriorated so much.

Used it mostly for testing new to me film cameras that I had purchased.

Phil.
