In the case of K1000SE I believe you are incorrect. I believe a batch of Japan-made K1000SE’s was released with the black diamond pattern before the first Hong Kong batch with the brown leatherette.

A "Moe Super" would be great company for "NEd".

Ritz Camera offered a number of SLRs with that grippy diamond pattern rubber covering.

HA !!
I have a uEd. Great under appreciated camera.

If 'some' is good, 'Moe' is better
Applies especially to Ice Cream.
Didn't Confucius say that?

Congrats on a good deal. I hope that the cameras are all in good shape. The LX is a great camera. I have one that I bought new that is sitting around unused, sadly.

I support this also because I actually had Pentax Literature with pictures advertising this camera when I bought it......its Factory but I didn't want to start WW III here. Monochrome.....You are correct.

My condolences on the loss of your wallet and gigantic pile of broken cameras you’re about to be stuck with...

It really is death by a thousand tiny cuts... and absurd shipping charges...

We must have different experiences with Goodwill ? Ive bought about 20 cameras and countless lenses and so far only 2 that were broken.
However...….I always check shipping charges FIRST as they can get ridiculous with some stores.
Ive had nothing but positive results....

I’m about 50/50 in terms of things being in good shape. Maybe I’m just shopping at the wrong end of the market...

And the shipping is only a surprise once... then it’s just annoying

I did bid kinda high.....lol. I figured the K1000 SE with the diamonette was worth $100 to me , and the ME Super I absolutely Love so I priced that at $40. I added $40 for lens resale value as I already have mint copies of all three.
So that leaves about $120 for the LX and isn't a terrible price regardless of condition...…..Keeping my fingers crossed.
Seems well thought out to me. But if everythings in working order then you indeed got a great deal!

Im sure hoping for the best. Ordinarily I don't bid on any cameras from high humidity states in the Midwest , but this time decided to take a chance !
I have my favorite stores that I like.....this really wasn't one of them.

When I started looking for my first LX, I came across this CL listing and I seem to recall it wasn't listed for cheap . . .

I usually prefer local CL listings followed by KEH.
