Pentax 6x7 Film Type Dial

I recently bought a Pentax 6x7 in good condition. On my first roll, I noticed that the film counter still goes beyond 10 frames, up to 20 actually. I use 120 film so I expect it to stop after 10 frames. I saw that the film type dial at the right side is missing. All that is left is a screw. I tried loosening the screw, but the circular metal plate below would not turn to any direction.

Would you be able to help me on how to set the film type dial properly despite the missing part?

Welcome to the forum. I can't help with the missing part. With 120 film, the film counter continues past 10 as the backing paper is wound on at the end of the roll (mine normally stop at about 15 on the counter). The shutter only fires 10 times, then the wind on lever stops cocking the shutter and just winds to the end of the roll.

Good Luck with a fix.

Welcome to the forum!

Here is a link to the P6x7 manual:

https://www.cameramanuals.org/pentax_pdf/pentax_6x7.pdf

This shows how to set the camera for either 120 or 220 film.

Phil.
