Nup, I don't think I've ever seen a shutter dial like that on an S-series Pentax...
...or on any screw mount Pentax. The closest I was able to come is the dial on the MX.

I suspect that the "dial" is just a shell slipped on over the real dial for purposes of the photo shoot. The shutter speed dials on the S-series bodies are not very photogenic* to start with and tend to not age well. I don't know what the donor camera might have been, but a bit of felt or foam as a spacer and voilà, we have a cool looking dial in place of the rather utilitarian original.

* Viewed from above, they are fine, but from the side, not so good.

Clearly, Ricoh is trolling all of us, and it's the 100th anniversary S2D M42-mount DSLR

My knowledge of these models is non-existent, but i'll throw this out anyway. Any chance we're seeing a prototype or some other limited in-house production unit?

The appearance would have been very unusual for the time.

Perhaps. Seems a bit odd though, given they’re obviously pushing the ‘heritage’ line pretty hard...

I hope all that means they are bringing a new DSLR with a VF as bright as the ME Super

As long as it's good-natured laughter, I'm OK with that
