The roll was sent to Dawyne's for processing. I hope to have images back soon.

WE HAVE PICTURES!

Hello,

I just got a notification from Dwayne's that the negatives are been shipped. In the meantime, here are the scans that were just downloaded. In my experience, Dawyne's color scans are hard to beat, but for B/W I prefer my own scans. These are untouched other than batch resize, batch signature and batch subtle linear contrast boost. As soon as I get the negatives I'll try to scan to see if I can get any better results.

1957 Asahi Pentax "AP"
Takumar 55 f2.2 preset
Kodak T-Max 400 film (Expired in 2013 but always stored in the fridge in a black plastic bag)

Notes:
-I had the K-01 as meter but most were shot with sunny 16.
-If I recall correctly most were between f16 and f8 and shutter speeds were all from the High speed dial (50, 100, 200 or 500)
-A straight horizon is the photographer's responsibility!
-I'm a sucker for high contrast. These are not the most contrasty results but that can easily be addressed in PP after scan (and not call it cheating).
-I notice a bit of softness in the full size scans probably due to the scanning, but it could be the film or the lens or the big fat piece behind the camera. I'll check the negatives upon arrival and rescan to check.

The owner of this motorcycle was taking pictures of it. I asked if I could and he proudly agreed.

I'm happy
What do you think?

Thanks,
Ismael

Hello,

Finally got around to do my own scan of the negatives. Time consuming to adjust parameters for each frame, but I like the results.
As suspected, Dwaye's scans were soft. I was able to get much sharper scans. Maybe too sharp on that first pic.
No cropping or alterations other than contrast adjustments and the signature macro action.

1957 Asahi Pentax "AP"
Period correct Takumar 55 f2.2 preset
Kodak Tmax-400 (Expired in 2013 but always refrigerated)
EPSON 2400 scanner

One of my favorites

Another favorite. Not mine. The guy was taking pics of it with his cell phone and graciously allowed me.

What do you know? A straight horizon is the photographer's responsibility!

I'm really happy!

Thanks,

Thanks,
Those shots are much better, really shows the camera's true capabilities.
I have always found that if you want decent scans then you need to do them yourself.

Beautiful setup. I know you will be a good custodian for this camera. Your editing of the pics are much better, in particular the motorcycle.
