Now in stereo!

So I pulled the trigger on the Asahi stereo adapter and viewer (M42 version) that was for sale on the Marketplace a few weeks ago. I burned the entire roll the weekend before the wildfires out here in the northwest US turned our sky smoky. The scan with color cast correction looks better than the projected slide. And I can't get the 3D effect with the projected slide like I can on my 21" monitor. I was projecting onto a wrinkly surface so that probably affected my viewing. The 3D effect does pop better with the viewer. Hope to get some better examples with some fresh Ektachrome.

Cool! I was able to cross my eyes enough to see it on my monitor too.

Great stuff! If I cross my eyes I can see it on my phone screen. Mine's around the house somewhere.

I tried crossing eyes while looking at it on my phone but only got strange looks from the family!

I have been researching and testing 3d lately. You can see one here.
Stupid Camera Tricks (and Stupid Lens Tricks) - Page 14 - PentaxForums.com
The stereo base (distance between) lens views), the focal length, distance from lens, distance from viewing screen and size of the viewing screen must be synched for best views. I am not surprised that the projection screen results are different from on a monitor.

Pentax made a stereo print viewer for some of the Optio range of cameras, I find it gives much easier viewing on a smart phone than trying to cross eyes.

Very cool. The black line in the middle of the image is quite distracting and required considerable effort to ignore before I could get the pair to lock and come into focus.
It may just be my technique; I use the parallel viewing technique, learned when I was looking at cartography maps in school. I never could master the cross eyed technique;
hurts my eye muscles in the most nauseating manner!

I used a Stereo Realist 35 mm camera for some years in the early 1960s before I switched to an H1a. Stereo slides were quite popular through the 1950s, and the Realist was my dad’s only camera. I still have his 20+ year collection of Kodachrome slides from all over the world, along with his 3-D projector, etc. Brings back memories.

If you have a 3d-viewer for your smartphone, they can make viewing pictures like this very easy.

That makes sense. I was hoping it would work projected. Had grand visions of projecting outdoors.

So from your experience, which focal length works better (35-50?)
Distance to subject
f/stop?
Etc.

Thanks
