In general, older mechanical SLRs are not so good at multiple exposures as the film may move a bit between the exposures. Many Pentaxes (and I'm sure other makes) recommend winding on twice after a double exposure to avoid later unintentional overlap. This obviously means the loss of a shot on your roll.

Of the cameras I have or had that can do multiple exposures well: Ricoh XR-M (or XR-X, same model with different names), Nikon F801S, Nikon F100, Canon EOS 30. The Ricoh is the oldest of them and is manual focus, and K-mount of course. It's a very nice camera to use, more advanced than the Pentax models of the same era though build quality isn't as good. I'd thoroughly recommend it.

The F801S can be had quite cheaply and they're fairly common. The EOS 30, as with all EOS film cameras, needs to be checked for the battery drain problem as a bad one can empty a battery within a day or two, even when switched off.

The Rollei QZ35 was the ultimate P&S camera, still is. Specs blow away everything else, including the best from Contax and Leica.
Designed by Porsche, titanium body, shutter that is auto and manually fully selectable from 16 seconds to 1/8000 sec! EV from -1 to 19. Three dials to control everything w/ immediate override - aperture, shutter and focus giving u A, S, P and M modes. Incredible lens.

Downside? Large. The size of a Leica M. VF is small and does not auto compensate for parallax. Noisy.

I have the W (28-60mm) and T (38-90mm) versions, but prefer the W as I like the 28mm focal length.

I am unimpressed by the Leica Minilux but like the Fujifilm Klasse.
I see it is more expensive than Rollei 35 on ebay, and probably rare, since not many of them are for sale.

Many rangefinder and "peephole" 35mm leaf shutters did not have interlocks with the film advance show you could multi-expose all you want. And many times unintentionally.

The IQ Zoom (Espio) 90wr does it, for example.

I did saw some great picture from Klasse wide and standard version, not sure about light meter.
I find the Rollei 35 difficult to focus, yes it is small, but I can think of a few just as good and easier to use, but it is a pretty camera.

I see IQZoom 90 WRs online for less than $20 regularly.
Mine came with a box of other things, so cost was close to $0...
You'll probably want to budget $5 for a pack of 1620 batteries for the remote, and it does use the CR123 batteries for primary power.

Another shout for the Chinon CE5 ( see other thread ) which has a button to press to allow cocking the shutter without moving the film. Does it work ? Sorry I havent a clue as I never used it but the manual for it smugly asserted that it would be fine
