Was it ever produced in black? I've only seen chrome ones. I have a Nikkormat FTN in black and the accessory shoe was made in both colors...wondering if Pentax did the same?

I'm pretty sure it was never available in black. I have seen hundreds of Spotmatics and never seen a black accessory shoe.

One more thing... The accessory shoe is available in 2 versions... A slip on ver. 1 and a clip on ver. 2. Every seen a black ver. 1?

I found a recently completed auction for the black accessory shoe... From a Japanese seller. It went unsold and wasn't relisted. Asking $50 plus $25 shipping. It might be worth it. It's definitely rare.
