Hi everyone, recently got a Pentax MV-1, and was wondering what type of pentax flashes would be compatible with it? Would the pentax AF201SA be compatible?

Any non-TTL analogue flash will work, see this list for Pentax options Non-TTL Pentax Flashes | The K-Mount Page There are many other suitable flashes from Sunpac, Vivitar, Metz etc.
The AF201SA is compatible.

Any non-TTL analogue flash will work

Pentax (and Pentax compatible*) flash units with a TTL mode will also work as long as they also have a non-TTL mode (for example the Pentax AF280T). The TTL mode will simply not work (or will give full power).

* Just about every flash unit ever made that has a single centre contact in the shoe is compatible with the MV-1. But best avoid ones with a high trigger voltage, for safe use on more modern cameras. Photo Strobe Trigger Voltages

The camera manual hints that the AF200S is the intended mate for the MV1 and should be pretty much "plug and play" once one figures out the amazingly complex rear panel on the flash.

As noted above, there are a plethora of other options that will work with your camera, the only restriction being that they be hot shoe capable.
