Camera Store, the movie

I finally caught this 2017 drama on a streaming service.

This film is set in a camera store in a suburban mall in 1994,
when film was still king and minilabs were popping up all over.

It received mostly only fair reviews, but the story and performances kept me interested.
I enjoy John Larroquette in practically anything. IMO it was 99 minutes well spent.

I'll have to watch that one!

The last photography related Film I watched was One hour photo (2002) - One of Robin Williams' more Dramatic roles. I'll admit I had a laugh over the +.03 cyan bit...though not intended to be a particularly funny film.

This post got me thinking about another film that featured a camera, but I've forgotten the name of the film or the principal actor.

It was abut a guy, who could have been a veteran, who built a model village and was bullied. I think the camera that he used to photograph the model village was a Spotmatic. I think it came out in the last ten years.

Anybody remember what the name of this film was?

Regards

Chris

Hope to find time to watch this. The minilab was a resurgence of business for the camera shops, they were taking the lab business back from Fotomat and its competitors. I know of one shop where I used to live that kind of neglected their camera business and concentrated on the minilab instead, and didn't see the future of digital until well too late.

There's also the documentary film "Marwencol" which preceded the feature film.

Never heard of it. Looks like a cool idea for a movie.

I dig Larroquette as well. This looks like it could be a good watch. I don't too much mind mediocre performances and stilted dialogue if there's good story in there.

"One Hour Photo" is a great one that's a bit underappreciated I think... But my favorite film photo leaning movie is the Ben Stiller version of "The Secret Life of Walter Mitty". Pretty sure I watch that at least once a year since release.
