Kodak closes all Qualex film processing plants

According to PTN Kodak will close them all mar. 2009. So sad.

Qualex... Never actually heard of that. But apart from Kodachrome, and sometimes E-6, I avoided going to Kodak for processing, anyway. Kodak is, however, an inspiration to supply-side capitalists everywhere. Rarely has there been a company which has gone so far by repeatedly shooting itself in the foot.

I mean, really, these are the folks, making all their money on film and processing, who decided to try and spend their marketing capital and brand prestige on 'Hey, let's mess with 35mm, like we did with 110 and 120! Planned obsolescence never worked before, but it improves balance sheets for a year! Time to try again!

(Ooh, though, P&S contest. I'll play, if non-Pentax things are OK. )





Just keep the film and soup coming, Rochester. We'll do the rest.

No surprise here.

In fact, I can't believe they lasted this long.

The UK is fulfilling my film needs at the moment
