I have a Superprogram and ME super I still use them. They both have an off switch. when you move the selector on the top to lock it not only locks the shutter but turns off the meters too. I have had no issues with rapid battery drainage. The LX is worth fixing as it was the only 35mm camera that Pentax designed to compete in the professional market and is an excellent camera.

Thanks for your feedback guys, i reallyy appreciate it. I contacted a few nearby repair shops and Harrow Technical to see their opinion on trying to repair it. Luckily i still have around a month to return it.
