Pentax P30n diopter

When I was younger my first Pentax camera was a P30n.

In a fit of nostalgia I saw one in a charity shop and purchased it.

I forgot that over 30 years have passed and my eyesight has aged.

The camera has no diopter adjustment and I cannot focus it!

I can see some diopter offerings such as "Pentax M" ???

What should I be looking for (i know the actual dipoter is dependent on my prescription)

Martin

That is the one.

If it helps here is a link to the camera manual (password is Pentax) ....... https://www.pentax-manuals.com/manuals/mf/pentax_p30_manual_s.pdf

They are still available as I bought a few different ones from an ebay seller. They even fit on my K-S2 with the diopter adjuster on it, when you take off the rubber piece covering it.
My eyesight is -2.75 so a -2 with a little adjustment makes it perfect.

Thanks, how does "adjustment" work - I am +1.5 in my viewing eye and they appear to do +1 and +2 corrections. Would I be able to go +1 and adjust "up" or +2 and adjust down?

If your camera doesn't have the slide adjuster on top of the viewfinder--you could get the +2, take off the rubber eyepiece and slide the adapter on.

Many Pentax DSLRs have a slide diopter adjustment on top of the viewfinder, that can slide left or right for adjustment.
If your camera has the slide adjustment you won't need the corrective diopter.

I have a -2 on my K-S2 (with a slide dioptor adjustment) that I bought when I had a P3N that had no slide adjustment, I tried a -3 and -2 and the -2 was sharper in the viewfinder.
