I do enjoy these old ads, finding pricing info for old off brand lenses online can take some work.

Cost of Soligor T-4 mount 400 f/6.3 in 1975: $114.70
Price in inflation adjusted 2008 US dollars : $452.88

Cost to me in like new condition at a camera show: $35

Also, quite the price difference between the Spotmatic F and ESII, roughly $950 vs. $1440 with 50mm f/1.4 kit lens.
