Thanks for your opinion on the light leaks - I agree. Good to know about the scan size - I guess I was expecting too much there.

Re. the appreciation of modern conveniences... the big two that come to mind are fast shutter speeds and variable ISO - what? I'm stuck at f/11 or 16 because I chose the wrong ISO and the camera can't keep up??? Huh? ISO 400 just didn't seem that fast...
Hmmm. . . the sunny-16 rule puts you at f/11 1/800sec for ISO-400 film in bright sunlight. At f/16 1/1000sec you could be underexposing, which would explain the lack of contrast you're seeing in some of your images.

Fuji 400 (like most color negative film) tolerates overexposure better than underexposure. It's not ideal for sunny days but it's certainly usable. After you get the light leaks sorted out you might try metering your next roll of 400 film at ISO320.

I agree with you sorta... ISO 400 so 1/400 (1/500 closest approximation) @ f/16... I have 1/1000 available so I can use f/11 at 1/1000 or 1/500 @ f/16 - exactly like I said f/11 or f/16 (Actually I matched the needle and referenced sunny 16 to see if it agreed).

Thanks for the advice on over exposing rather than under I'll give pulling the film a try next time I shoot it.

Just look at that picture! This is the reason I love film so much. I love it to bits.
Thanks ftp... This one came out just about how I pictured it (aside from the glow on the left) so I'm glad you like it.

I believe that this is the light seal kit you're referring to, but I'm starting to lean toward sending it to Eric - this forum must keep him neck deep in cameras.
That's the one!

We must keep Eric busy, but with good reason--he's the best at what he does
