I just got a roll of film back from a film camera (but not a Pentax) and it has a confusing consistency; an over exposed spot about the center of each frame.

Here are a couple from the roll.
If anyone has a suggestion I would be pleased to hear.

Landscape shot. Now it is almost straight into the sun but it was deeply overcast. Maybe this has something to do with the over exposed center.



My bike in the snow. Again, there is a bright spot on the bike. It should show a black faring but it looks washed out.

What kind of camera is this, does it have a focal plane shutter?

Pin hole in the shutter? Open the camera. If it will allow Mirror lockup, do so. Point camera at bright light... does it show through the shutter? Is there a leading and following shutter? If so, look at both. I, for one, have a habit of thumbing the wind as soon as I have shot a frame. In my case, this would likely come from the shutter that would be used when the camera was cocked...

Any damage to the shutter of any kind?

No mirror to lock up - it's a Yashica Lynx 14E. It had a CLA from Mark Hama last year. I did notice the shutter failing to click on a few frames but I cranked to the next frame and continued. I attributed the failure to temperature as I was using it outdoors.

Maybe I'll try another roll in the spring.

That'd be my first thought, too. Pinholed shutters can be found in rangefinders with cloth shutters, too, though. Helps to know what camera.

Oops. Crossed posts. A Lynx, eh? Cool. Guess it does sound like a shutter problem.
