Originally posted by chickentender I keep meaning to shoot more with this lens, the Soligor 20mm I picked up a long while back. It's a little soft, extreeemely flare-prone, a little beat up, and its defocused-area rendering is completely bananas at times..... And yet it's so small for its length (nearly 1/2 the size of the SMC equivalent) and interesting that it is kind of a charmer. This was from nearly a year ago.

Normally I don't like boats tied up at the dock as a subject matter, unless there dirty fishing boats
Kinda like a bird in a cage. But this is nice with the converging perspective lines the docks make and all those masts are like a forest. Those clouds have a really nice 3d quality that are just floating there. The plane is a nice touch, I'm glad you didn't try to emphasize it in the composition and just let it be part of the scene. I'm gonna rethink marinas, and we got lots of em'. Very nice shot.

A scan of an 8x10 photo print that I made in the darkbathroom last night. A split grade process. Exposed for 45 seconds with a #5 filter then another 45 seconds with a #3 filter and dodged the bokeh with my hands then another 10 seconds of burn with no filter on the front of the shirt. This was the sixth print and I think I could do more in terms of improvement in tone. The top of the easel was a little out of alignment for one. May a different aperture for the highlights. I was just goofing around in the yard with a teleconverter. This was around 5 meters distance.
