Yeah, newton rings. I need to get some anti newton glass for my scanning sandwich.
I am using a couple sheets of 8x10 picture frame glass taped together with a hinge as a negative holder.
I found some acrylic antiglare sheets I want to try.

OK, so long as it's not a de-cloaking Klingon vessel.

What's wrong with your current setup? I was thinking of trying a glass sandwich on my V550. Is there any issue with achieving focus on the filmstrip with different methods like this?

LOL, i did not notice any Klingon vessels decloaking, so I am fairly certain it was newton rings. :-)

I measured the depth of the manufacturer film holder, and noticed that the photo frame glass was very very close.
I scanned a negative using the glass, and using the original film holder and could see no difference in focus whatsoever.
The only issue I am having is newton rings and dust. Using the glass sandwich means I have 6 dusty surfaces, not just two. :-)
