Originally posted by Jonathan Mac Out of interest, has anyone here tried the Kodak Mobile Film Scanner app for Android? I held some colour negs in front of it the other day and it seemed to do pretty well colour-wise but haven't had the time to do any more testing. Depending on how close my S8 can focus, it may well do better than my V500.
All it does is take a photo of the neg, accounting for the orange mask. I don't expect wonders but it could be handy.
Wow, I downloaded the app just now, and what I did was, I opened up my photo editing software and then called up some 35mm B&W negatives I've duped with my SONY NEX 7.
With the negatives open on my laptop's screen, I employed the app, and actually obtained quite impressive results. What a cool app! I can't wait to try it with some real negatives, see how they do -- color as well as B&W.
I wish Kodak would make this software available for a windows platform, where I could produce images from a higher megapixel count camera than what a cell phone has to offer.
