Nice work. I'm surprised at how laid back the saturation is on this Velvia Chrome.

It was pretty overcast out, so that may be why it seems like it is less saturated then you might expect. To me it seems pretty saturated...

I made this self portrait in October 2018, but it was a remake of a self portrait that I originally made in November 2013 using my Bronica S2.

Retina back from the shop

I recently got my Retina IIc serviced. Slow speeds were toast, and the rangefinder spot was invisible.

It's now home again and seems to be working great. The rangefinder spot is still not awesome, but it is usable, and the speeds all seem to be right on.

I threw in my last roll of Ektar 100, since that seemed appropriate, and gave it a go. It did really well.

It's an easy camera to carry for a walkabout, and the lens is sharp, with good color (when you aren't taking pictures of mud).
Really great for travel apart from the kluge that is the wide and telephoto lenses...

And the 50mm has great bokeh, like so many of the classic 50s. I love how the detail in the grass here just fades away.

Did you get the Retina fixed in USA - Chris Sherlock is now retired? Sometimes a drop of isopropyl in the timer slot will free up slow speeds. As for the rangefinder, you can improve visibility by a black spot in front of the finder window centre.

I had just worked up the nerve to send my camera to New Zealand and Chris Sherlock, and when I went get his address, he'd just retired

He recommended Paul Barden in Oregon, USA, so that's where it went...

Apparently the rangefinder mirror was toast, so he found a serviceable replacement, and whatever else he cleaned, it is smoother in every way, like you hope from a good overhaul.
I'm pleased.
