Anyone used Silvergrain chemistry?

I'm... Up too late chemistry shopping, and noticed Silvergrain Clearfix Neutral fixer on Freestyle. Seems to be a more green product, and handy in other ways for how my developing schedule seems to go lately.

(I've been kind of hoping a non-hardening fixer will help with my negative flatness woes, here, anyway... And there's a print developer they make, as well, for when I finally get some print developing going here: my neighbors have improved their drainage, and it looks like my darkroom shack won't flood so much now when it rains a lot.

This is more of a bump, then a post with anything to add.

I'm interested to hear if this fixer will reduce curle negatives. I have real trouble getting negatives flat. Especially Tri-X.

Sort of a re-bump, but I thought I'd mention I got some of this stuff coming, so well soon see how it does, KungPow.

Was time for a big restock.

As well as a pile of Arista Premium 400,

And Diafine.

Both some really nice prices at Freestyle for this, if anyone felt like trying them.

Any idea off the top of your head how long Diafine lasts when mixed? I have 2 bottles of the stuff that I only used once maybe 2 years ago to soup some Holga negatives.

My understanding is the stuff lasts crazy-long, but that may be pushing it. I haven't actually used the stuff before: it's one of those things I've wanted to try for a while but simply never pulled the trigger. The life of it was an appealing point, though, the last place where I lived and I really had to order everything.

I won't risk the roll I'm working on now but maybe I'll dunk some Arista in it and see how it turns out.

Could be interesting. Some time ago, someone on the Net told me a story of some remarkable feat of storage of the stuff, but I just can't remember the details.

I guess, owing to it being in two parts, it's pretty stable stuff, though.
