I always hated those really cheap Polaroid 35mm films. They should have stuck with instant.

Orwochrome, although it has a sort of quaint 'postery' feel to it. Agfachrome CT100 is a close second. To be fair, I haven't shot on Agfa for thirty-odd years so it may have improved.

Attached slide shot on Orwochrome with Pentax MX and 50mm f1.7 lens, scanned with Canon Ixus 750 through reversed Pentax-M 50mm lens over lightbox.
That looks awesome to me. Heh, different strokes right?

I'm a Fuji fan. I don't care for the colors I get with Kodak. I don't usually use Fuji's superia but that's all they sell here. I do like their what used to be NPS and NPH films. I haven't shot any b/w in a long time, so can't say how it is now, but I have used, Tri-x, X-Pan, and T-Max of Kodak. Also Neopan of Fuji's line. I do not like this Kodak c-41 b/w film. To me it has a permanent sepia tone to it. Though a lot easier to get developed, I'd rather do my own.

Cosmo...HP5 is the 400-speed FP4.

I'm pretty sure it isn't. Can you find me a link to back this up?

Least favorite film? Anything with Madonna in it.

Oh, hold on, you mean photographic film.

Nope. Was being mildly facetious, in that HP5+ is sort've the higher-speed equivalent of FP4+. Higher speed, but still cubic grain.

Although I know I'm technically wrong, as I don't mind a bit of FP4+, but can't bleeding stand HP5+. For anything.

So it's not the same emulsion.

Plus they have very different characteristics. The tones are completely different.

Aye. One's tolerable, and one kills shadow detail.

I never could get along with Tmax 400. Mushy and gritty in my experience.

Hard call

I don't particularly like Kodak films, though I have only used their E6 and C41 stuff. Superia (100) is alright in the right conditions, and I loved the Japanese Reala Ace (which I believe is a slightly different emulsion to the Reala we get in the UK). I love Fuji's E6 range too, with Velvia 100F being my favourite (I know, I'm odd! )

For mono, I find HP5+ ok for walk about use, but it can be too grainy for 35mm. FP4+ is a film I've only used once I think, but the results were so flat and dull I wasn't inclined to try again. I quite like Delta 400, and I have yet to try either Pan F+ or Delta 3200 (which I will probably use in 120 only, given that HP5+ is a bit too grainy for me most of the time in 35mm). I have a few more rolls of Rollei Retro 400 (120) to use up. I find it a lovely film, but it curls like a ******** after development making scanning a pain. Neopan 100 is something I want to keep trying - I think I need to find the right developer to get the best out of it. I only used Neopan Presto 400 the once, but I am tempted to try again with 120, as it had a nice contrast (but was too grainy for me in 35mm).

So, least favourite film? FP4+ or Kodak colour films (in general) - I can't make up my mind.

I guess my one and only experience with it left me very disappointed. Super ugly grain.
