Lx + k50/1.2

I can buy a LX (shoving use marks) with a K50/1.2 (which I already have) for ~€340. Is it worth it?

a k50 f/1.2 sold on ebay a couple days ago for $5.50. If an LX is worth more than 336 Euros, then it might be a good deal.

That seems like an awful lot of money though, unless there is something special about the LX body.

I agree. That sounds pretty low. If it was a K 50/1.2, whoever got it made off like a bandit.

You're talking ~440 U$D... altogether.
A functional used K50 1.2 is worth a minimum $200- however, you've already got one.

A used LX is another question altogether - they are known to eventually need CLA due to "sticky mirror".

Bottom line - you need to decide if it's a good buy based on the condition of the equipment and if its of value to you.

a K50 1.2 for 5,50 USD!!!... please link to that page... On the other hand there is no K50 2.0... but there's something strange about this for sure...

To the original question. The LX is, if functional, worth some 200€ almost regardless of cosmetic condition. You can check if the multifunction button (mirror lock-up, DOF preview etc.) is worn, that would indicate an older model LX that is supposedly more prone to sticky mirror. Though a newer model is by no means immune to it. A K50 1.2 goes for quite a lot in Europe, HERE is a diagram showing prices in Germany, and prices in Germany are usually on the lower side.

Conclusion: If it all works it's a very good deal. If either one is not working you might want to skip it. But if you haven't shot with the LX I'd say that's a good enough reason to buy it.

Just did a quick search, didn't find this completed listing. Do you still have it saved?

Because... I'm pretty sure that was probably an SMC-M 50 1:2. People are constantly mistaking the 1:2 for a 1:1.2 or simply 1.2.

Unless it was broken, a K 50 1.2 would not sell for $5.50 unless 1) it was mislisted and was impossible to find during a search, *and* 2) the seller had no idea what it was.
