EXIF information from my Spotmatic?

i bought some nice set of forms from a forum member on half letter-size card which makes it easy to fill in details. although i have never bothered yet, the MZ-S records data

I have noticed the digital crowd is obsessed with gathering data.
I guess even if your pictures suck at least you can crunch numbers.

For film users recording data on each shot may be useful for testing,
but IMO is unnecessary for general photography. It's a PITA too.

you know it's a pain in the ass ... but pictures just look more professional when they are presented with some EXIF details

If you scan your negs, you can very easily add EXIF data with Filmtagger, a GUI frontend for EXIFtool. I use it for every roll--it's very quick.

I have been tempted to use the record feature of my old Creative MuVo MP3 player sort of like a dictaphone to take verbal notes. I lack the discipline to use a written pad. I suppose I could also leave myself voicemails or short text memos on my cell phone.

How does any of the exif data help you appreciate someone elses photographs?

Part of the reason I am so fond of shooting at f8. If anybody asks me, I can answer with a fair degree of confidence, "Oh, I shot that at f8".

Very funny. Brings back memories of waiting for the slides to come in the mail and then checking the note pad to see where I screwed up all the shots.

because it is going beyond "oh it's a nice picture". as a "photographer" i am interested in how the picture was taken
