It's nice to see some advertising for the old Pentax K2. Aside from a few of us reading in this forum the K2 doesn't get a lot of love. This has always surprised me. It was the top-of-the line model and quite expensive back in the day (1976). It wasn't in production very long and this may have something to do with it as well. One only has to run a roll of film through a K2 to really appreciate it. Mine is still going strong.
As much as I liked the MX I prefer the extra size, weight and features of the K2. I know Pentax was just following the miniaturization trend when they started making their cameras smaller at this time. I think it was a mistake. They seem to be following the same design strategy with the new K7. It is much smaller and lighter than my K10 and just feels and looks cheaper than the K10. This is all subjective of course but I prefer the extra weight of the larger cameras.
