Welcome to the Velvia club! Here you can post your best Velvia shots. All variations of Velvia are welcome but do tell us which Velvia was used.

Inspired by all the different clubs in the lens section I thought I'd start a club in honour of my favourite film. Enjoy!

These have been shown before but they can be shown again, they would not have been anything were it not for Velvia.

Yes Velvia is great slide film. I have been a Kodak shooter since 1972, mostly with Kodachrome 64 and more recently Ektachrome E100VS.

The photo lab I use only carries Fuji and has a great price with processing/mounting included. So I thought I’d give Velvia 100 a try and I really like it. Also tried the 50 ASA and that’s even better, but a bit too slow for everyday use.

Unfortunately I rarely get my slides scanned, so if I do I’ll post some pictures then.

Great idea!

I had a real hard time scanning Velvia & getting the tone right... I'll dig the film out and try again, as I've had better luck since with Provia...

Having only shot one roll so far, I don't really have many photographs to post yet.
So I'll post some at a future date.

I found out through a friend, Velvia pretty much uses it's own colour profile, if you goggle up

pspentax, you really caught that deep blue in the skies. And is that an indoor portrait with Velvia?! Very nice!

Nesster, yes getting the colours right can be hard. I usually correct the colours by eye afterwards. I think I get it quite right, do tell me if they look awful so I can recalibrate my sreecn

I see a lot of great urban photos with Velvia but I never get around to trying it myself, *writing down on "to do list"...*.

Anyway here's another one from me.

RVP100F with some kind of glass/metal thing attached to... eeh.. that box with a button on it!

Jim,
If you scan a Velvia, and work on a image under the recommended colour profile it should be pretty accurate.
Then save it as a Adobe RGB, or just RGB profile for easy viewing on the computer.

Anything newer than Photoshop 7 lets you download just about any profile you desire, and should allow you to do the scans.

Although until you calibrate your monitor we really don't know what you intended for us to see

Even then, we all need our monitors calibrated as well.

I did indeed go through many rolls of velvia back in the '90s. I guess I'll hsve to get some more of my favorite images scanned
