Ricoh XR-7M II

Is it 'legal' to ask about a Ricoh in this forum?

If so, anyone familiar with this model?

Specifically, is it KA mount?

TIA!/ScottGee1

I am not familiar with this particular body, though to the best of my knowledge there was no M II version of the XR7 (Edit: See additional comments below). I can tell you without reservation that the body is not K-A mount. Ricoh did not support the A contacts on any of their camera bodies.

My XR7 was made in the early 1980s. It was marketed in direct competition with the Pentax ME Super and has a similar feature set. It is my favorite film camera body and I can recommend it without reservations to anyone wanting a full-featured aperture priority camera.

I just sold my XR-7 due to an over-abundance of camera bodies, but I would recommend it highly. No A contacts, but it has an aperture priority mode that works with K and M lenses, as well as with taks on an adapter.

Well, I can't tell anything about the Ricoh, but the Gestapo will be along shortly to move your thread...

Thanks for digging this one up Chris. My initial Google search turned up nothing. It does look like a Cosina. I did a little deeper dig for myself and found that the Mk II was made in the mid-to-late 1990s, had a cast aluminum chassis, supported Av and manual modes, and cost of about $250 USD new. It looks like a pretty nice little camera, though the feature set is more limited than the original version. Unfortunately, I was unable to find any manuals or literature.
