Kodak 400 BW C41

OK, I guess I did not realize there were two flavors of Kodak C41 Black and White film - 400BWC and BW400CN. The latter is maybe 30-40% more expensive so what is the performance or quality differences? The ad I saw doesn't say new so I guess I have just missed this along the way?

BW400CN is the current product. Googling for 400BWC turns up very few hits, mostly foreign, so I'm going to go out on a limb here and say maybe it was a repackaging for other markets?

Personally I'd go for Ilford XP2 Super over BW400CN, but that's just because I like to print it myself in the darkroom. Assuming you aren't, it looks like the Kodak is a fair bit cheaper.

I'm guessing the 400BWC was another Kodak chromogenic BW film that was around before the internet got big. I've got a Kodak PDF that lists pretty much every film they were making 'round about the late nineties, see what I can find.

Found: in 2003, there were two Kodak BW C-41 films available: Kodak Professional Portra 400BW (orange mask, for printing on normal colour paper,) and Kodak Professional T400CN (for printing on regular BW paper, like Ilford's XP2.)
