DA70's hood on film

How shall I use the hood of DA 70 lens on film SLR?
I noticed that there are two layer of hoods.

I haven't noticed - but then when I use the DA70 on film, maybe I do think and not extend the hood. Safer. I just can't remember!
But if you're really curious, try it for a few frames and see if there's vignetting.

The one where I have to remind myself to remove the hood is the DA40.

I can't tell you yet, because I haven't processed a roll where I remembered to take the DA40 hood off. With the hood, it definitely vignettes. This is something I want to look into, because I want to use a ZX-L to back up my K-x as a light-ish travel rig.

I've just hung a roll to dry which had test shots from the DA70. At least from the wet negative, I can't tell any difference between the shots with and without the hood and even with the hood extended. All seem to cover a full frame reasonably well with only minor, correctable vignettting. It's good at F/4.

As the other, longer thread on using DA lenses concluded, the corner sharpness may or may not be acceptable, but the hood does not seem to make much difference in the coverage.
