Hello from Maine,
I was so happy to find an inexpensive K1000 body, having fond memories of my old K1000 SE (gone) with it's split prism and needle meter - what a joy to use
When I received my new K1000 in the mail it didn't have the split prism and the meter is wildly inaccurate. In other words, I can't just compensate by changing the ISO, the meter seems to be all over the place - sometimes too low, sometimes too high - it needs it's meter cell replaced I bet.
So I wonder - can I replace the meter cell and prism easily ? Or is it like surgery and very difficult ?
Thanks,
Craig
p.s. If it matters : the serial number is 8406120, it's stamped "Asahi opt. co." on the back, and that's it - no other markings.
