Hi everyone,

The database is coming together quite nicely (Thanks Ole!). We are now looking at the serial number database and Adam will let us know what options are available, but we'll need to confirm the format of the database itself. For it to be sustainable, we'll look to provide members the ability to add data directly to the database. We'll then want it to display the data in a meaningful way, which also means that we are limited in the amount of data that can be displayed. My thoughts are;

"Item" (Camera/Lens), "model", "serial number", "member", "optional very short description" (i.e. early release, black, etc.)

I'd like to see sort order for the report on "item", then "model" and finally the "serial number" (if possible)

Comments?

Thanks for the help everyone.

Steve

I have now uploaded all the M42 cameras for which we have data.

I need your help in verifying the correctness of the data, and also check if the data is consistently presented.

Pentax M42 Screwmount Camera Reviews - PentaxForums.com

I attach a pdf file of all data. It is much easier to compare and check the data using this file.

PM me your comments, or post them in this thread. Let's give ourselves a week to do the review and corrections.

Thanks to everyone for the help is getting the information together and especially Ole and Adam. This ended up being a very big job, I started to wonder if Adam ever sleeps as he seemed to be working on the database non stop to get it sorted out the way we wanted.

We have a number of members that passed along their serial numbers to me, but I'll ask that they add them to the database directly (so they aren't all showing up as being owned by me). We also still have a few cameras left to gain info for, so please keep the info coming in.

Thanks again.

Steve

PS...to fellow Canadians....Happy Thanksgiving!

Please review and let me know if you have any comments or additions.

We need photos of the original Asahiflex, and of the Ia and IIa models.

Got the message; I will be taking pictures of my cameras in an hour. Please stay tuned

One thing though. I just realized that I don't have the best Asahiflex I around. It is easily in EXC+ condition but the front leatherette is missing. That's all though; it's still a nice looker.
