Is the Shutter in the Pentax ME Stepless?

I gather the Pentax ME probably features a stepless shutter, but I just want to verify this. I have read that it has a nice Seiko shutter.

Yes it is, since it's only got P mode. The viewfinder shows the nearest shutter speed.

To clarify, the Pentax ME offers aperture-preferred autoexposure only, what you digital folks call Av.
There is no P mode, assuming P stands for Program autoexposure.

True- I meant 'auto' mode only for SS.

Good point, Chris...1976 would have been a bit early for a camera with a "P" mode. I believe the Canon A-1 was the first SLR to feature a program mode, and it debuted in 1978.
