These are sweet. Thanks for sharing.
Nothing like looking at this kind of stuff.
More advertising here than Pentax currently offers.

I can't quite make out what's on the black AP, though it is a f/2 - a single digit f number
If it is an f2, it may very well be the 58mm f2 which was the rarest lens on the 'AP'. It was a 6/4 'Sonnar-type' lens. I think the 3 possible pre-set lenses were the 58mm f2.4 (carried over from m37), 55mm f2.2, and 58mm f2. That pre-set 55 wasn't like the later 55 Taks in that it was a 5/5 Gaussian design.

I suppose the SLR developed slowly back then - here's three Honeywell ads from '65 - I didn't know Honeywell distributed Rollei also for a while.

Honeywell also distributed a rangefinder that was made by Mamiya. Those are both types that Pentax never had in production. I think Pentax's R & D was actually quite busy in those days. They were deliberate with what the took to the market. That's the secrete to the number of milestones they racked up. The unveiled the Metallica II and the Memorica at the 'Shows' in 1966. The were the 1st electronically controlled aperture priority and shutter priority ttl pentaprism cameras and had the k-mount on them. Features from Metallica II showed up in the K2 in 1975, especially the metallic stepless shutter. (The Electro Spottie, ES and ES II had fabric shutters). I don't think features the Memorica really showed up directly in a model.
